How was the Public Servant Day born in Peru?

The Day of the Public Servant in Peru dates back to 1978 thanks to the adoption of some agreements by the International Labor Organization. This means that the Public Servant's Day has an international character, however it is celebrated on different dates.

In Peru it is celebrated on May 29 , because it was precisely a day like this but in 1950 when Decree Law 11377 was promulgated, referring to the Statute and Rank of the Civil Service; the first document that refers especially to all personnel who worked in public institutions.

In addition, this decree also promulgates the celebration of Public Employee Day, which must be commemorated every year with ceremonies and performances that enhance its meaning.

The Peruvian state has a little more than one million 426 thousand workers or public servants according to the latest figures from Servir. Therefore, from here we extend a warm greeting to all workers in this sector on Public Servant Day.
